The whole project is a systematic effort towards the development of uniform national monitoring CAN case-based surveillance systems in EU via transferring good practices from other fields into child abuse and neglect prevention practices: the development of the CAN-MDS Toolkit and the training of core national groups as potential operators (who could act in the future as multipliers) on the basis of the respective training module, aim to be the basis for the CAN-MDS systems. Policy & Procedures Manual addressing national authorities and the conferences' organization target also to support the undertaking of political initiatives for systematic monitoring of child abuse and neglect at a case-level. Even partner organizations would not have the potential to support the operation of CAN-MDS systems; they could continue with building the capacity of professionals via trainings in case that a national authority makes the decision to proceed with the development of a CAN monitoring system.
